homeless and formerly homeless women publish book

Every Wednesday several women gather for the “Write to Heal and Have Fun!” writing workshop at Mary’s Place day center in Seattle, Washington. After five years of meeting, the group published a book of their writings. About 50 homeless and formerly homeless women contributed to the book called “Original Voices.”

In the foreword, Pat Schneider, author and founder of Amherst Writers & Artists, says, “Original Voices” is about revolution daring to value voices that have not only been excluded from our definitions of literary art; they are voices that have been excluded from acceptance across all of the lines of ordinary human dialogue.

Book proceeds will benefit women and writing at Mary’s Place.¬†Buy the book at Mary’s Place or from Amazon.
